Purpose of the service

ExtraTag helps a finder of a lost item contact the owner through a QR-based tag page. The service improves the chance of recovery, but recovery is never guaranteed.

Account holder responsibilities

• Keep your account, tag and contact details accurate.
• Only publish contact information that you are allowed to use.
• Do not use ExtraTag for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, harassing or spam-related purposes.
• Keep your login details secure and notify us if you suspect misuse.

Finder / scanner use

Scanners may contact the owner through the available buttons, submit a found report or voluntarily share an exact location. Exact location sharing happens through browser location permission: either after an explicit tap on the location button, or automatically on a scan when the scanner has previously granted this site persistent location permission in their browser. It can be refused or withdrawn by not granting, or by removing, location permission in the browser.

Tag modes and privacy

Owners can configure tag modes that determine what is visible on the public scan page. Depending on the selected mode, contact details may be hidden, code entry may be disabled, or a tag may be deactivated.

Licenses, plans and shop

• The available free and paid plans are shown in the account/shop flow before purchase.
• A plan or license may limit the number of tags that can be created or claimed.
• Existing tags normally continue to work after a license expires, but new tag creation or additional claims may be blocked until a valid license/limit is available.
• Physical labels/stickers, if offered, may be handled separately from the digital license.
• Payments are processed through Mollie or another payment provider shown in the checkout flow.

Abuse prevention

ExtraTag may rate-limit, block or log excessive scans, code attempts, login attempts or other suspicious activity. Tags, accounts or orders may be restricted if they are used abusively or unlawfully.

Availability and changes

The service is provided on a best-effort basis. Maintenance, hosting issues, third-party outages or force majeure can affect availability. We may update the service where needed for security, legal compliance or functionality.

Liability

ExtraTag is provided as a practical lost-and-found tool. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ExtraTag and its operator are not liable for lost items, failed recovery, incorrect owner/finder information, third-party services, or indirect damages.
